Congratulations ot Derek Terry of Hayling Island, Hampshire on the purchase of our fantastic 2001 Mercedes Benz SL320. This low mileage R129 SL had a light restoration undertaken by us, bringing the car back up to the usual high standard of SL supplied by Turnbull and Oliver Ltd. Mr Terry first came to visit us in the summer of 2017, he was looking for a particular exterior colour (Metallic Blue), combined with cream Nappa leather to match his one owner from new 2006 S350 saloon.
Mr Terry first saw this particular car shortly after we took delivery from the previous owner, but was happy to wait while we made the necessary improvements to bring the car back up to standard. We undertook the normal works that are required with the R129, namely a front end respray to remove 17 years of stone chips, scratches, and the odd parking incident! We also worked on the panoramic roof, as these usually suffer with corrision on the leading edge of the metal parts of the roof. Mechanically the SL was given a full service by our sister company Prestige Car Service Ltd, together with a new rear seal to the engine, which means removing the automatic gearbox for access. The gearbox oil was also replaced at the same time - these "sealed for life" units actually need an oil change every 50,000 miles.
