A fantastic opportunity to own a very exceptional Mercedes-Benz AMG SL55. Owned by a particular fastidious previous owner for seven years in leafy Surrey - used sparingly, always garaged, and never taken out in the rain. During all of that time, this SL55 was looked after by our sister company - renowned Mercedes-Benz specialists, Prestige Car Service Ltd, the invoices for this car show that no expense has been spared in maintaining and improving the car.
In particular the previous owner wished to emulate a very rare option - an SL55 with the AMG F1 Performance Pack. This £8500 option provided you with a derestricted car capable of 186mph (the standard car was restricted to 155mph). To achieve this, the previous owner commissioned Prestige Car Service to undertake a number of mechanical improvements. Like the original F1 Performance Pack, an additional charge cooler manufactured by Eurocharged was fitted to improve supercharger boost, along with a smaller supercharger pulley wheel, and the car was then remapped by Eurocharged to make the most of this extra power. To keep the car on the straight and narrow, a limited slip differential was also fitted. The result of all this work was to take the SL55 from it’s standard 450hp up to an amazing 535hp! Even today, there is not much else on the road that can see off this car, its performance has be seen and felt to be believed and all at a considerably lower price point than a factory SL55 F1 Performance Pack.
The owner also had an upgraded remote key module with additional features. Two clicks remotely lowers or raises the windows, and three clicks remotely lowers or raises the roof (a surprisingly useful addition). Cosmetically the owner then requested that the standard aluminium trim be removed by PCS, which was sent away to specialist cabinet makers, who then created the beautiful piano black trim that the car has today - a far superior finish to match the factory option Alacantra instrument bezel and interior roof lining. SL63 19” split rim alloys (worth around £3000 on their own) were then added (currently fitted with Yokohama Advance Sport tyres, all with good tread) to finish off this great looking car.
The result is a fantastic looking car that not only has a blistering soundtrack from the quad exhausts, but is also blistering quick as well.
As you would expect, the bodywork on this car is an equal to the rest of the car, again our fastidious previous owner had the car professionally detailed on an annual basis, as can be seen from the comprehensive paperwork included with the car.
