What a great day for Turnbull & Oliver - a trip to the Isle of Wight! On a very sunny February day, we deliver our Blue Mercedes Benz SL320 to its proud new owners Sue and Don Brame.
Following a light restoration at Turnbull and Oliver Ltd (you can see the restoration blog here), Sue and Don Brame visited us at the workshops of Prestige Car Service Ltd to view our blue SL 320 back in January, and decided it was the perfect car for them, as we had a couple of items to complete on the car, we happily agreed to bring the finished car over to them at their wonderful home on the Isle of Wight. Don had owned an R129 Mercedes Benz before, and had missed having a versatile and comfortable convertible with a weather proof hard top for those winter months, hence this SL fitting the bill perfectly.
I arrived at the Portsmouth ferry terminal in good time for my 40 minute crossing and then onwards to the south side of the island, this SL will be a great car for cruising around the island - top down in the summer months! I soon arrived at Sue and Don's to be welcomed with coffee and croissants. With the 12 month unlimited mileage warranty forms completed, and a couple of cups of coffee consumed, they kindly dropped me back to Ryde for the Hovercraft trip back to mainland. So to Sue and Don, thank you for your hospitality, and all of us at Turnbull and Oliver hope you'll both enjoy your SL 320.
